While public health professionals have been combatting the misinformation about vaccines causing autism and other health concerns, adult vaccination education was found to be an issue contributing to low vaccination rates among adults. In summer 2016, 480 individuals in Graves County, Kentucky participated in a survey examining access to preventive healthcare services. For vaccinations, 73.48% (194 out of 264) mentioned they were unaware of the age appropriate vaccination schedule as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This finding is consistent with a recent report by atom Alliance (2018) that stated the latest report from the CDC showed vaccination rates among adults are low. In the report, it stated only 20 percent of adults received the Tdap vaccination. The case study from Graves County, found that 75.70 percent of the 391 respondents to that question were up to date on their Tdap vaccination. This presentation will compare the case study results on vaccinations compared to the CDC Recommended Immunization Schedule for Adults.
